Sunday, 12 April 2026 – Gaisberg Sunday: Walk & Talk & Roundtables

Sunday is designed as a dedicated professional day on Salzburg’s local mountain Gaisberg and forms part of the scientific programme of the symposium. It combines physical activity, a shared meal and focused professional exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.

Note: Participation is included in the conference registration. Food and drinks at the mountain restaurant are not included in the conference fee and will be paid individually on site.

Meeting point for the joint trip to Gaisberg: Mirabellplatz, bus stop for the Gaisberg line

Bus to Gaisberg

  • 09:45–10:17: first joint bus Mirabellplatz → Gaisbergsiedlung
  • 10:15–10:47: second joint bus Mirabellplatz → Gaisbergsiedlung

Buses run every 30 minutes up and down the mountain throughout the day. Further details on tickets and meeting points will be communicated on site and by e-mail.

On Gaisberg

11:00–12:00 – Walk & Talk of the ÖGfMM working groups

Guided walk in small groups led by representatives of the ÖGfMM working groups, including:

  • Performing arts medicine
  • Music psychology & coaching
  • Music physiology / breathing & body work
  • Vocal health
  • Hearing health
  • Music effects / music therapy
  • Science and research

The focus is on professional exchange, future questions in each area and interdisciplinary interfaces.

12:15–13:15 – Joint lunch at the mountain restaurant

Shared lunch at the mountain inn on Gaisberg. Food and drinks are not included in the conference fee and will be paid individually.

Roundtables on the mountain

13:30–15:00 – Top Roundtables on Gaisberg

Two parallel roundtables focus on networking at regional and international level:

  1. Local networks in Salzburg
    Moderation: Hanna Keßeler & Leonhard Königseder (ÖGfMM)
    • Visibility and accessibility of services in the field of music and health in Salzburg and the surrounding region
    • Existing contact points, gaps in care and referral structures
    • Strengthening cooperation between universities, healthcare, cultural institutions and freelance practice
  2. International research networks & research funding
    Moderation: Matthias Bertsch & Christoph Zalpour (ÖGfMM)
    • Perspectives for long-term cooperation (e.g. conferences, special issues, EU project ideas)
    • Mobility and exchange (Erasmus, bilateral agreements, blended formats)
    • Building sustainable research networks in the field of music & health

From approx. 15:00 – Informal closing & return

Informal farewell on the mountain; time for a short walk or individual conversations.
